1st Shipley serves the areas of Windhill, Thackley, Wrose, Carr Lan, Owlet and Bolton Woods, with many of its young people attending Christchurch Academy, Idle CofE, Thackley, St Antony’s RC, Low Ash and High Crags Primary Schools and Immanuel, Sir Titus Salt and Hanson Secondary Schools.
We are a large but friendly group with an active programme for all ages including weekly meetings, camps, outings and adventurous activities as well as an international trip for our older members every 4 years. Members are asked to attend quarterly parade services at The Salvation Army, which we use to celebrate the successes of our young people and adult members as well as reflecting on our Scout Promise.
